Executive Summary: Develop a platform to integrate GPS providers for visualizing units in one place.
Restrictions: Manage only one platform for everything, including temperature monitoring.
Background: The outsourced transport fleet shared “mirror accounts,” which were accounts from different GPS providers, to track them by FRIALSA’s monitoring department. However, this was inefficient as their staff had to learn how to use different platforms.
Solution: We integrated all GPS providers into a single platform, presented the solution to the carriers, and established a relationship with their tracking providers to carry out the integration work. Another requirement was to measure the temperature on all trips to ensure the cold chain integrity and provide evidence for holding the transport line accountable if any issues occurred.
Results: We included all units in our platform for monitoring, which became the standard for checking cargo positions and having temperature data from refrigerated containers. This set a precedent for ensuring the cold chain in the country’s refrigerated transport.
