“INSTALLATION OF FIBER OPTICS FOR CAMERA NETWORK IN THE RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT”

Restrictions: Stabilize the power distribution network and improve performance.
Background: The residential development has a network of over 400 urban cameras with Network Video Recorders (NVR) distributed in various locations, exposed to harsh environmental conditions. Electric surges have been causing network disruptions.
Solution: We replaced the network with fiber optics, spanning over 15 kilometers, and centralized the NVRs at the central offices for a controlled environment. Grounding and installation of thermal-magnetic switches were implemented to mitigate electric surges.
Results: The data and video network now exhibit stability and speed across all points. It is possible to simultaneously view all 400+ cameras without losing any sectors. The lifespan of video display servers and NVRs has increased due to the controlled environment. The security of the residential development has been enhanced with license plate readers at the entrance gates.
