LoraWan

LoRa is a long-range, low-speed wireless protocol that allows the connection of sensors and other devices with minimal maintenance and power consumption, enabling batteries to last for years.

Thanks to these characteristics, LoRa is ideal for IoT, where things and devices connect to send or receive information or state changes over long distances with minimal operator intervention.

In order to properly manage the information coming from devices, a network architecture called LoRaWAN is created, which consists of Gateways, which are the radio transmitters on the network side, and communicate directly with all the sensors and various servers, such as network servers, application servers, security servers, etc.

Applications

  • For Smart Cities

  • In areas with limited coverage (such as agricultural or livestock farms in rural areas)

  • For building private networks of sensors and/or actuators.

  • Water cycle management.

  • Air quality control.

  • Environmental monitoring.

  • Sustainable agriculture / Optimization of water resources.

  • Monitoring of sensors installed in buildings
